Allegro Foundation, which aids children with disabilities, honored Dr. László Szabó and his country of Hungary at the 9th Annual Ambassador’s Ball on Jan. 6 at Quail Hollow Club.

Chris Domeny, the honorary Hungarian consul for North and South Carolina, attended the event in place of Szabó, the Hungarian ambassador to the U.S., who was unable to attend because of last-minute diplomatic matters.

Guests enjoyed a formal dinner, silent and live auctions and dancing. Felix Sabates hosted the event, and the emcee was Larry Sprinkle from WCNC.

All proceeds from the Ambassador’s Ball go to funding and expanding Allegro’s free movement-education programs, which currently help more than 700 children with disabilities in Charlotte, Fort Mill and Huntersville.
