Camryn Williams, 10, is a fifth grader at Elon Park Elementary and the CEO and product ambassador for Camryn’s Slime Shoppe. She sells her slime, gift boxes and even goal-setting workbooks online and at pop-up events like Markets at 11. She shares her creative process below.

What keeps you focused on slime?

Having a business is fun and exciting, (but) it is not just about the slime. It is about being SLIME — savvy, loving, innovative, mindful and empowered. I inspire others to learn new things, love themselves and others, give back, and do it all with confidence and a smile.

What inspires your slime creation?

Making slime is a science. I’m always experimenting with colors, textures and scents. Butter slime is my favorite because it has a smooth texture and is very stretchy. Playing with this type of slime is a stress reliever for me.

What are your future goals?

I want to host at least one Slimebration (in-person or virtual party or STEM event) every quarter. I also want to do several pop-ups and donate 15% of my sales to charity. I want to make a sale or ship a slime to every state and begin selling my products in a local store. Long-term, I would love to sell my products internationally and open my own storefront.

Do you prefer online or in-person sales?

I really like interacting with customers in my local community. I also enjoy learning about and supporting other businesses. My slime bars allow customers to customize their slime on the spot. It is awesome to see the slime smiles firsthand. I don’t always get to see that when I sell online.
