Art in the Garden Tour

May 15 - May 16

The Charlotte Garden Club, an affiliate of the Mint Museum, is holding its annual public tour of spectacular private residential gardens in south Charlotte.

While they paused last year, their six hosts did not: They’ve had 12 more months to ensure their inspiring gardens — from long established to newly planted — are ready for a “100% Outdoors, 100% Contactless, 100% Delightful” weekend this May.

Safety is the top priority: They will follow state and federal COVID-19 protocols. Masks, crowd control, social distancing and paperless tickets will be implemented throughout the tour.

Tour Times:

Saturday, May 15, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Sunday, May 16, 1-4 p.m. Tickets are on sale at charlottegardenclub.org.

More details:

•Charlotte Garden Club and Mint Museum Members: $20 in advance online, $25 days of tour.
•Non Members: $30 in advance online, $35 days of tour.
•Casual attire and flat-heeled shoes recommended; many gardens have stone steps.
•Children welcome, and up to age 17 are free. Strollers not permitted in these private gardens.
•Raffle tickets available online for $5.
•No paper tour or raffle tickets will be sold on event days at the gardens except online or with a smartphone; tour-goers will show an emailed e-ticket for entry and raffle ticket receipts bought.

Local painters will set up easels in each garden to capture “en plein air” the beauty of the Southern landscapes. An online raffle will feature specimen shrubs and trees from leading nurseries, a potting bench and more. Master Gardeners and representatives from Soil3 will be on duty, and Stewart’s Village Pottery will offer whimsical yard art for sale. Don’t miss this RAIN OR SHINE weekend for novice and seasoned gardeners alike.
