Ballantyne Golf Academy Junior Golf Summer Camps

Bold Music Lessons’ Camps

Ages: Middle- and high-school-aged children

Description: The team behind Bold Music Lessons is hosting a one-of-a-kind summer camp this summer for high school and middle school students looking to explore music, write their own songs and even record them in a real studio. Campers will get to experience writing and performing at the famous Evening Muse in NoDa, in addition to learning the ropes of recording their own music at Sioux Sioux Studio. You don’t need to be a songwriter or singer to join. It is a collaborative, creative experience for every musician to enjoy.

Calvary Kids Music Camp and Vacation Bible School

Description: Camp Blue Sky is a fast, furious summer day camp with an away camp feel.

Charlotte Chess Academy

Ages: Kindergarten through adult

Description: At Charlotte Chess Academy, students will receive a lesson weekly via Zoom conferencing. Camps are typically 1-day for 3-8 hours, depending on the level. Students will be able to engage with their instructors in real-time. All who register will be sent a link to attend live classes. Students will receive supplemental materials after camp. Attending camp is as easy as one click.

Description: Fusion Academy offers virtual summer small group camps weekly, Monday to Friday, 2 hours per day. Camps include game design, social entrepreneurship, and digital media arts. Description: Day camp at The Little Gym of Charlotte-Ballantyne gives kids the summer camp experience without the bug bites, poison ivy and week-long commitments. Combining fun physical activity, games and arts and crafts, The Little Gym helps children beat the summer heat by staying cool.

Ages: Rising first to rising sixth graders

Dates: June to August

Location: Online

Description: A 10-week summer online course for musicians organized by grade and skill level. Participants will meet weekly with their Next Step Ed. teacher via Zoom. Classes are limited to 8 students (a minimum of 5 registered students). Scholarships are available.

 

Primrose Summer Adventure Club

Description: Learning + Fun = Summer at the Primrose of South Charlotte. During the summer, children will review key math and literacy skills in a safe, fun and caring environment that keeps them engaged while learning. Primrose is limiting group sizes, so spots are limited.

 

SHEcanCODE: Coding Trifecta

Ages: 9 – 13

Description: This three-week summer camp with Digi-Bridge, Code Ninjas and Dottie Rose Foundation is limited to 15 campers. One camp registration gets you THREE fun-filled weeks of hands-on experience with robotics, drones, coding, art and all of the technology you can handle. Collaborate with industry leaders to solve real-world problems. Scholarships are available.

 

Weddington Swim & Racquet Club Clinics and Camp

Ages: 4-16 (clinics), 5-11 (camp)

COVID-19 Response: From Christiaan Lee-Daigle, head tennis pro: “Kids are to stay 6 feet apart at all times, ball tubes are sanitized constantly. Kids are not to handle tennis balls with their hands and encouraged to use their racquets only to pick up the balls. Players are to bring their own water as water stations have been removed. Court entries are to remain open, so nobody has to touch the gates. Washrooms are constantly sanitized by the staff. Sanitizing spray bottles are available to use on the courts for ball tubes, hands and racquets. Those are just some examples of what we are doing. All in all, we are following the USTA guidelines and adding some of our own precautions.”

Description: The weekly morning clinics at Weddington Swim & Racquet Club offer 1-2 hours of instruction for beginners to intermediate players. The weekly camps, from 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., focus on tennis while using additional sports and pool time to keep kids active.
